Improper water chemistry

BEFORE AFTER
Your hot tub's water chemistry in proper balance is absolutely mandatory. Your safety, and/or your guest's safety is of the utmost importance. A tub can "look" clean, but be very dangerous to those using it, and to the hot tubs components.
In this example, the hot tub was actually not used for a while, and the chemicals got out of balance. This florescent green happens to be a sign that the bromine levels got too high, and the pH level got too low. A quick balance of the pH will correct this coloring, but does not remove the higher levels of the bromine.
The bromine and chlorine levels will go down overtime. It will reduce as it battles keeping the water sanitized, evaporating with the water, and being absorbed by our bodies as the hot tub is being used. If the bromine or chlorine levels are too high, it may require draining and refilling the tub to keep it safe for use.
